Storybook Lab: Nathan’s Wildlife Ranger Story

Featured in 3126 Magazine

Kosmovision’s Storybook Lab has been featured in the Spring 2026 edition of 3126 Magazine.

Delivered weekly at Canterbury Neighbourhood Centre, Storybook Lab supports adults with disability, including people who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), to create illustrated stories through photography, symbols, visual art and supported communication.

The article shares the creative journey of participant Nathan Hau. Inspired by his interest in unusual Australian professions, Nathan chose to become a wildlife ranger and the main character in adventures set across Western Australia. His interests and choices guided the development of the character, stories and a collaborative model created by the group.

Through this process, participants build communication, creative expression, confidence and community connection while producing work they can proudly share with their families and community.

A family perspective

“I just want to sincerely thank Kosmovision for doing such a wonderful job with the Creative Pathways program. We can see the positive difference it is making for the young adults, and they are really enjoying each session.”

– Vivian, participant family member
